The graph below shows the depth of the auto parts supplier market from 1985 - 2015. In 2005, this market was worth about 470 billion euros.

A lot of car manufacturing companies now outsource an increasing number of components and car automotive parts. Normally, such products are offered by external suppliers. These products include fuel and steering systems, in addition to components like chassis systems as well as tires. 

In 2013, German concerns Continental and Bosch were the world’s biggest suppliers, while  Denso came in third. The firm was founded in 1949 in Kariya and is now part of Toyota. In 2014, Denso reported net sales of almost 40 billion U.S. dollars. Denso invests a decent amount in research and development activities: In 2014 around 3.5 billion U.S. Car components produced by Denso also include hybrid car components and radar systems.
